Rain of fishes

The city of Yoro witnesses the rain of fishes. It is the city in Honduras, a country in South America. The rain has been puzzling scientists. However, the residents of city do not want to know science. They just believe that it’s a miracle.

A major storm with dark cloud appears in the month of May or June which brings heavy rains. They sometimes last up to 2 hours and drops little fishes which most of the times are alive. The native enjoys the fish recipes that day. All the fishes are fresh water fishes and well known specie. The scientists find it strange that these fishes does not inhabit any waters nearby the area. Since 1998 they are celebrating a festival (de la Lluvia de Peces) when it rains with the fishes.

It is very interesting and strange. It sounds like a scene from "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs".
